What is a Polyconic vase?<\/h2>\n

The polyconic vase is a modern method of shaping the olive tree canopy to allow for optimal airflow, better light exposure, and easier harvesting and mechanization. In practice, this means trimming each tree to several main branches that spread out in the form of multiple cones<\/strong>. This encourages even growth, reduces shading within the canopy, and improves the overall health of the tree.<\/p>\n

Unlike traditional pruning systems, the polyconic vase pruning method provides the tree with both space and structure, allowing it to consistently yield higher-quality, more uniform fruit \u2013 a key factor in producing top-grade \u010cervar extra virgin olive oil<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Our olive growers, Deni and Franko, rolled up their sleeves early on a spring morning, prepped their pruning shears, and got to work.
